German heavyweight Cengiz Koc has finally announced his retirement after a long series of injuries. Koc, 24-3, had his last fight in 2008 but was on and off in training for a comeback that never materialized. Koc won the bronze medal at the 2000 European amateur championships. He has also won a European championship in amateur kick boxing. As a pro, he couldn't achieve the same ratio of success, and suffered defeats when the level of competition was raised. He dropped decisions to Michael Sprott, Paolo Vidoz and Michael Hoffmann.
