Undefeated Victor Cayo has reaffirmed his position to BoxingScene.com after hearing the news that Amir Khan may possibly vacate his WBA junior welterweight title instead of defending it against the mandatory challenger, and interim-champion, Marcos Maidana.
Cayo, the highest ranked contender under the WBA, wants to fight Maidana as soon as possible. If Khan ultimately makes a decision to vacate his title, it would not be surprising. Back on December 10, multiple sources had advised BoxingScene.com that Khan would likely vacate his title if the WBA forced his hand to fight Maidana.
