Mexico's Robinson Castellanos (17-9, 11KOs), says he's ready and available to fight compatriot and WBC Featherweight champion Daniel Ponce de Leon, now that Puerto Rico's Jayson Velez has had to pull out with a twisted ankle.

Robinson who's publicity gimic is to dress up like Batman's sidekick "Robin," actaully issued a public challenge to Ponce de Leon a few weeks ago in the Zona Rosa offices of the WBC. The atmosphere then was strained, rather than sprained.

Robinson who's the WBC's Silver Featherweight Champion and ranked at number two, was hoping to fight Panamanian number one contender Celestino "Pelenchin" Caballero. A date of April 20th has been pencilled in, but nothing has yet been crossed or dotted.

Robinson confirms that he's already in full training and could be 100 percent ready by March 2nd, which is the date of Ponce de Leon's voluntary defence. He's a fighter in a hurry. As the saying goes: "Before you can say Jack Robinson!"

Jhonny Gonzalez, who lost the WBC Featherweight title to Ponce de Leon, isn't in such a hurry. He's got a return clause to fight Daniel, after the champion fights his voluntary defence.  Jhonny himself is fighting Eusebio Osejo, on the: "Rumbo a la gloria" card in Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo on February 23rd.
