The Philippines Dindo Castanares suffered a stunning second round TKO at the hands of undefeated Australian middleweight champion Daniel “The Rock” Dawson at the Challenge Stadium in Perth, Western Australia, Wednesday.

The end came at 0:46 of the second round with Dawson improving his record to 24-0 with 16 knockouts while Castanares dropped to 16-5-2 with 12 knockouts.

The 25 year old Castanares who won the vacant WBF light welterweight title with a fourth round TKO over Guillermo Mosquera on December 11, 2004 and retained it with a fifth round TKO over Steven Marks on April 30, 2005 suffered his second stoppage in a row. He was knocked out in the 7th round by Japan’s Daigoro Yamamoto on November 6 last year.

The 28 year old Dawson who stands 5’10” won the vacant Australian welterweight crown with a ten round unanimous decision over Josh Clenshaw on Decemver 12, 2004 . He was coming off a fourth round TKO victory over Thailand’s Mike Wanprasert last December 11.
