Anabel Ortiz made her seventh successful defense of his WBA world strawweight title by winning via TKO in the eighth round over Jolene Blackshear, when referee Rafael Ramos stopped the action in the main event at the Municipal Auditorium in Tijuana and the show was transmitted by Azteca 7, the House of Boxing.

Ortiz (21-3, 4KOs) recovered from a knockdown in the fourth round as a product of a right hand by Jolene. World champion Anabel was very aggressive in round sixth, seventh and eighth by battering Blackshear until the referee stopped the fight due to too much punishment.

Carlos 'Chema' Ocampo (19-0, 12 KOs) picked up a third round stoppage win with a dominated win over Ramses Agathon (20-4, 9 KOs), who finished with a very lacerated face.

The Venezuelan based in Tijuana ¨Bolivita¨ Jose Uzcategui (25-1, 21 KOs) picked up a TKO win in the fifth round against American Dereck 'Superman' Findley (24-11, 15 KOs). Uzcategui dominated from start to finish with his aggressiveness and strong combinations. Findley decided not to come out and fight in the fifth round.

Uzcategui is the number one super middleweight contender under the IBF. The boxer is in line for a world title shot against world champion James DeGale of the UK. DeGale is likely heading in the direction of a fall unification with WBC world champion Badou Jack. The winner will have to face Uzcategui.
