It has been almost four years since Carlos Cuadras stopped being world champion, and the need for redemption keeps him more motivated than ever as he prepares for an imminent rematch with two-time world champion Juan Francisco 'Gallo' Estrada, which he expects to happen once the restrictions are lifted due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Estrada and Cuadras were going to collide in June, but due to all of the restrictions imposed by the government, the reality is that they don't know when it can happen.

For Cuadras it is the opportunity for revenge after the close decision loss he suffered at the hands of Estrada in September 2017.

"I 'm returning from a very difficult stage, which included the loss of the title, but after that my mentality has changed a lot, I think I matured a lot and took things more seriously with a lot of discipline and the desire to become champion again," Cuadras  (39-3-1, 27 KOs) said to ESPN Deportes.

The fight against Estrada means everything for Cuadras today, since it depends on how the future can be outlined.

"I am training hard, as circumstances allow. I am sure that in this second fight I will clearly win, because I feel that the first, despite the knockdown, I also won," said Cuadras.

And about the possibility of a rematch between Estrada and Román 'Chocolatito' González, he warned that there is no need to look too far ahead.

"Without a doubt, that fight is good, but Estrada must first beat me," said Cuadras.

"The truth was that I saw 'Chocolatito' win in the first fight against Estrada, and with me the fight was much more close and competitive, so I ask Estrada not to be distracted because this time I'm coming in much better form and they can get shocked."
