Carlos Buitrago Decisions Eddy Zuniga in Managua

Nicaraguan boxer Carlos "Chocorroncito" Buitrago added another victory to his budding career in professional boxing, by outboxing Costa Rica's Eddy Zuniga to pikc up a ten round unanimous decision on a big card at the Prodesa Sports Gym in Managua. Buitrago retained his WBO Youth minimumweight title with the win, and picked up the vacant WBA Fedecentro title.

The opponent was elusive, and Buitrago built his win with a fast jab and boxed. The scores were 90-81, 90-82 89-82. Buitrago's record goes up to 16-0, with 11 knockouts and Zuniga falls to 7-3-1.

I know is late news. But, I read a few months ago that Buitrago and his team were talking to Teiken about a possible promotional deal. I hope Buitrago fills the void that Gonzalez left at 105.
