Carl Froch puts his belt on the line against Denmark’s Mikkel Kessler in April yet the two fighters are still at odds over where the fight should be held.  Froch brings his WBC title, and a travelling support, to the table and believes that the fight should take place in Copenhagen, Kessler’s team are proposing that the fight takes place in Herning, which is over 150 miles away from Copenhagen, and they are offering Carl more money for a Herning encounter.

“It will be difficult for my fans to get to Herning, but much easier if it was in Copenhagen.  I'm not going to Herning,” said Froch when speaking to ESPN.  “It's got to be a mutually agreeable venue and it's never going to be mutually agreeable if the fight takes place in Herning.”

Froch, with his title and the recent Super Six win over Andre Dirrell, appears to be in the driving seat on this one and will dig in his heels so that his passionate fans will not have to drag themselves to Herning.  Kessler, by contrast, lost his WBA title, and his first Super six contest, to Andre Ward late last year, he needs Froch but will use the pre-fight negotiations to, perhaps, seek to emphatically let Carl know that he is on enemy ground come fight night.
