WBC super-middleweight champion Carl Froch insists the time for talking is over ahead of his Super Six final clash with Andre Ward on Saturday. Froch (28-1, 20KO wins) came face to face with unbeaten Californian Andre Ward (24-0, 13KO wins) at the final fight press conference in New York on Tuesday and made it clear he is ready to fight.

"The time for talking is most definitely over. I'm going to do my talking in the ring on December 17. It's a cliche, but trust me, I've had a great response from the British fans - and the American fans.

"Hundreds, nearly a thousand actually, of people are flying over from England and it's taken me by surprise, being so close to Christmas. They have dug deep and I want to say a big thanks to them and say I guarantee you will not be disappointed with what you see on Saturday night."

Froch insists he has no fear about fighting on foreign soil again despite Amir Khan's shock defeat to Lamont Petersen in Washington last week.

"I think you've got to go away from home and take these fights sometimes or the fights don't happen," he said. "I don't think going away is the be-all and end-all and I don't think being in Washington is the reason he (Khan) lost," said the Nottingham fighter. I feel he just lost the fight anyway.
