WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch discussed the possibility of facing Bernard Hopkins, the WBC champion at 175-pounds. Froch's promoter, Eddie Hearn, had recently been quoted that he would love to match Froch with Hopkins in the future.
"There's another fighter [in Hopkins] who would want to fight me because he would fight anyone. That's a fight that may or may not happen. He's a light heavyweight and I'm a super middleweight. We may do that at a catch-weight at some stage, but there are other people to worry about like Andre Ward, Mikkel Kessler and Lucian Bute, [who is] the IBF champion. Before Hopkins turns 50, that may be a fight that might happen," Froch told BoxingScene.com.
Next up for Froch is a fight with Andre Ward, the WBA champion, in the final bout of the Super Six Boxing Classic. Some experts may argue that Ward has yet to lose a single round in the Super Six tournament, which even Froch admits will be very difficult to reverse.
"It's difficult to reverse that. But that's the way in which he fights. He boxes on the backfoot, [and] he jabs and moves. Against the people he's been in there with, he's been able to do that, but I can assure you that he won't do that with me," Froch said.
