Former two-time super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-2, 20KOs) is delighted with the opportunity to face undefeated IBF king Lucian Bute (30-0, 24KOs) on May 26th at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham. Bute is defending his title on hostile soil, as he expects a sold-out crowd of screaming Nottingham fans.
Froch expects to resume his career in style after suffering a twelve round decision loss to WBC/WBA champion Andre Ward in the finals of the Super Six Boxing Classic last December.
"This match with Bute is exactly the challenge I needed. Fans remember how, after the defeat to [Mikkel] Kessler, I returned with my engine on full speed [against Arthur Abraham] and I won the belt again. It will happen again with Bute in Nottingham, which is my home. I have great respect for Lucian, but I'm prepared to do whatever is humanly possible to win. I do not believe in miracles, but my manager has made a miracle with Bute, by persuading him to come out of Montreal and come [over to fight me in Nottingham]," Froch told Prahova.
