According to Boris Arencibia, president of Caribbean Promotions, new promotional player Roc Nation is still interested in guiding the career of WBA/WBO super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (14-0, 9 KOs), who returns on December 31st against Hisashi Amagasa (28-4-1, 19KOs) in Osaka, Japan.
There were some discussions between Caribe, who promoter Rigondeaux, and Roc Nation, but the two companies were unable to reach an agreement to co-promote the two-time Olympic gold medal winner. Arencibia will continue speaking with them about a potential deal.
"For now there is not much to report except that we have talked and there is interest from them in Rigo,'' said Arencibia to George Ebro. "We believe Roc Nation Sports is serious about boxing and we will continue talking to them for the best interests of our fighter."
