Former junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-1-1, 30KOs) has already started some very tough sparring sessions in San Diego, as he prepares for his fight with Alfredo Angulo (22-3, 18 KOs) on March 15th from MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Showtime Pay-Per-View will carry the contest.

Canelo started nine round sessions with three different sparring partners. Each sparring partner jumps in fresh for three rounds. According to Canelo's handlers, he is sparring with Wale "Lucky Boy" Omotoso (23-1, 19 KO), Orlando Lora (29-5-2, 19 KOs), and young prospect Jonathan Esquivel.

The Mexican fighter is working on speed and movement, anticipating that Angulo will press forward from the opening bell with power punch combinations.
