BoxingScene.com was advised that WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (41-0-1, 30KOs) will travel to New York City on Friday. Canelo wants to be ringside on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden to watch three division champion Miguel Cotto challenge unbeaten WBA "regular" beltholder Austin Trout. Canelo is slated to return on May 4th and Cotto is one of the three boxers he would like to face on the date.

The other two opponents Canelo wants to fight are Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Sergio Martinez. Mayweather has not revealed the outline for his next return and Martinez is unlikely as he plans to defend his WBC middleweight title on April 27th in Argentina.
