Jose 'Chepo' Reynoso, head trainer of Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, believes Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will not learn anything new from his current coach, Hall of Famer Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain.

There is a catch-weight in place, 164.5-pounds. For  this contest, Chavez Jr. hired Nacho and is also using strength and conditioning coach Angel "Memo" Heredia.

Chavez Jr has used several trainers in the past, including Robert Garcia, Freddie Roach, Joe Goossen and several others.

After all of the work that he's conducted with those trainers, Reynoso feels that he still sees the same fighter with the same defects in every bout.

"I am not in the agreement with the idea that Julio will learn new things [from Nacho]. What things can he acquire? What new things can he do with Nacho? He has been with 10 trainers and I see the same boy. In addition, we are not worried about what he learns or doesn't," said Chepo to Carlos Zulbaran.

"The only thing were are always worried about is being at 100% so we can win the fight, regardless of who works with Julio, who he trains with or how he prepares."

Reynoso says his fighter is very motivated in the gym and training hard to pull off a statement making victory at a very high weight. Canelo last fought at 154-pounds, the junior middleweight limit, back in September.

"It will be a clear, forceful victory. That's what I think, the entire team thinks and what [Canelo] believes," said Reynoso .

"Everything has been very good, everything according to plan and we've started with the sparring sessions since last Tuesday. We do it every three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. We work from Monday to Saturday and Sunday is a rest period. Canelo started Tuesday with eight rounds of sparring, with four minutes of work and 50 seconds of rest. Everything is going very well, everything is aimed at acquiring an excellent preparation."
