Canelo Promotions would like to finalize a deal for a clash between their rising prospect, WBC silver super bantamweight champion Andres Gutierrez (28-0-1, 22KOs) and former champion/veteran Hugo Cazares (40-7-2, 27KOs) - and place it on the March 8th undercard at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The main event that night will feature a junior middleweight war between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Alfredo Angulo.
Gutierrez went 4-0 in 2013, with wins over Ernie Sanchez, Rey Perez, Salvador Sanchez and Jose Carmona. Cazares was 3-0, picking up wins over Rey Perez, Gabriel Altarejos and Julio Cesar "Pingo" Miranda.
