Heavyweight Shane Cameron stopped Robert Davis in the eleventh round of their headline bout last Saturday in Gisborne. He walked away with a very swollen and very sore right hand. Cameron is heading to a doctor to have the hand checked out and x-rays taken but doesn't think the injury will stop the June 6 bout with New Zealand rival David Tua. Cameron hurt the right hand during his training camp for Davis. He continued to work through it and continued with the Davis fight.

"It just had swelling in all the wrong places from consecutive punches. I was catching him with those rights in the first three rounds and it really got sore so I had to back off a bit," Cameron said to Sunday News . It eliminated me from throwing that right hand otherwise I would have got him out of there much quicker. It just needs some physio and time."

He plans to rest for the next few weeks with family and friends. Cameron wasn't the only fighter to take some bumps in the fight. Davis suffered a cracked rib and a busted ear drum.
