Heavyweight Shane Cameron (24-2, 20KOs) is making progress in training camp. As previously reported, Cameron planned to drop down to the cruiserweight division. He was last seen in March, beating John Hopoate with a two round disqualification. Prior to that, Cameron got knocked out by David Tua in two rounds last October.
Cameron's muscular build caused a lot of doubts on his ability to take off the weight. He seems to be making a lot of progress with the weight and getting down to cruiser "little by little." He usually weighs around around 232-228-pounds as a heavyweight.
He makes his cruiserweight debut against Daniel Ammann (19-3, 4KOs) on July 21 in Sydney. The main event will feature Danny Green making a defense of his IBO cruiserweight world title fight against Paul Briggs.
