When Glen Johnson challenges Clinton Woods for the IBF light heavyweight title in Bolton on Saturday night, undefeated IBF/WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe will be watching and cheering Johnson on. As previously noted, Calzaghe has reached a 'provisional agreement' to move up to light-heavyweight and meet Johnson, likely in February 2007 in Manchester.

Although the first meeting resulted in a draw, and Johnson won the rematch, Calzaghe tells UK news outlet ITV that the third bout between Johnson and Woods is a "50-50 fight".

"Johnson is not getting any younger while Clinton has the title now so I think he has grown in confidence and he's improved slightly as a fighter. I honestly think it's a 50-50 fight," Calzaghe said. "Maybe I want Glen Johnson to win because he's a bigger name in America, he's knocked out Roy Jones and he's beaten Antonio Tarver.

If Woods happens to win, Calzaghe would consider fighting him, but admits that Woods is not a big name outside of England and the fight would not mean much in other countries, especially the United States.
