IBF/WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe (41-0, 31KOs), has answered the call of WBA middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler's (37-0, 28KOs) who boasted that he is best super middleweight in the world.

"In my opinion there is no doubt that I am the best super middleweight in the world and I'm ready to fight anyone to prove that," said Kessler. "And to Calzaghe: Let's meet and find out!"

Kessler faces WBC ruler Markus Beyer in a unification bout on October 14, Calzaghe defends his title against Sakio Bika in Manchester on the same night. Calzaghe admits that Kessler is one of the best at 168 pounds, the second best.

"Kessler's the second-best super middle in the world, but I see myself beating him, like anyone else at the weight," said Calzaghe to BBC Sport. I fancy Kessler to beat Beyer convincingly, so we will wait to see if the two of us fight further down the line.

Calzaghe does not know how a super fight between him and Kessler would ever be put together, since Kessler has said that he would not fight Calzaghe in Britian, and Calzaghe has been vocal about not fighting Kessler in Denmark.

"Obviously I don't want to go to Denmark and fight him, the same as he doesn't want to come to Britain, but we'll have to wait and see."
