British great Joe Calzaghe is tabbing George Groves to capture the IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight titles with a rematch win over Carl Froch later tonight before 80,000 fans at Wembley in London.
Cazlaghe, regarded as one of the best super middleweights of all-time, retired from the sport as Froch was coming up. At the age of 37 and taking a lot of punishment in last November's fight with Groves, Calzaghe wonders if Froch can adapt and whether the Nottingham boxer is capable of getting any better in the rematch.
"You can make a case for both fighters," Calzaghe told The Daily Telegraph. "Has Froch got old? Is he slowing? Can Groves improve from his last performance? There is a blueprint to beat Froch. He's heavy-legged and he's quite slow."
"He's also 37. I think Groves just has to do what he did the first time. But can Froch get any worse and can Groves get any better? I'd never bet on a fight if I think it's a close fight, but personally I'd edge towards Groves."
"He's the younger fighter and he did dish out a beating in the first fight. It then got stopped controversially. At 37 (in July), what's left in the tank for Froch?"
