As quoted by Setanta Sports, undisputed super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe has promised to sit on his punches when he moves up in weight to challenge light heavyweight champ Bernard Hopkins on April 19 in Las Vegas.

Calzaghe's advantages in the fight are his speed and high output of punches, but he promises to slow it down against Hopkins because he wants to stand toe-to-toe and shoot power punches to become the first fighter to knock Hopkins out.

"I'm always going to throw a lot of punches, but in this fight he'll be moving a lot and looking to land a big shot, a right hand, over the top," Calzaghe said. "I'm aiming to sit on my punches a bit more and am going to hurt him.  I will use my speed but I'm definitely going to look at the power punches and with the added weight, I've definitely noticed I'm punching harder."

"Its not just a matter of throwing 1000 punches or 4000 punches, I am going to make sure the punches I throw have proper power in them because I want to knock him out."
