English news publication UTV reports that IBF/WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe is going to face Sakio "The Scorpian" Bika on October 14, at the M.E.N. Arena, Manchester, England. Calzaghe is looking to produce a big win, because his promoter Frank Warren has promised him a mega-fight for February 2007.
"I have had a lot of frustration in my career but I plan on making up for it in October and I have the great incentive of what may be a unification fight in February. I have been training hard for the last five weeks and have had no problems. I know nothing about Bika but from his record he looks like a tough fighter," said Calzaghe
Bika sports a record of 20-1, 13KOs, not losing a fight since 2002, when he dropped a majority decision to Sam Soliman. In his last bout, Baki battled WBC super middleweight champion Markus Beyer to a four round technical draw due to Beyer suffering a bad cut under his eye from a clash of heads.
