Middleweight contender Caleb Truax returns to the ring this Saturday night against Melvin Betancourt, promoter Tony Grygelko confirmed to BoxingScene.com Wednesday afternoon.

The 10 round bout between Truax and Betancourt will take place at the Black Bear Casino in Carlton, Minn. Carlton is about a two-hour drive north of Minneapolis.

Truax (25-2-2, 15 KOs) will be fighting for the first time since April 24 of last year, when he was stopped by Daniel Jacobs in the 10th round. The loss snapped an eight-fight unbeaten streak for Truax.

The 32-year-old Truax is a big draw in Minnesota, where he has most of his pro bouts. The Osseo, Minn. resident has wins over Andy Kolle, Donovan George, and Derek Ennis.

Should he come out victorious on Saturday, Grygelko did tell Boxingscene.com that Truax would make an immediate return to the ring.

Betancourt (29-3, 23 KOs) has an impressive record, but four of his wins have come against fighters with winning records.

In his last bout on August 7, Betancourt was stopped in the first round by middleweight contender Avtandil Khurtsidze. Betancourt, who hails from the Dominican Republic, has lost his last two bouts.

In a battle of unbeaten featherweights, Duarn Vue (8-0-1, 3 KOs) squares off against Jarren Cochran (11-0, 4 KOs) in an eight round bout.
