The winner of the Philippine light welterweight title fight between undefeated Adones Cabalquinto and mandatory challenger RJ Ano-os will get a chance to become a sparring partner of Manny Pacquiao as the "Fighter of the Decade" prepares for his WBO International welterweight championship showdown with Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios in Macau on November 24.
Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz told the Manila Standard that the winner of the 140 pound bout on the MP Promotions card at the Makati Coliseum on Saturday "will get a bonus and the opportunity to fly back to GenSan with me on Monday morning and spar with Manny" indirectly ruling out the offer of former two division world champion Gerry Penalosa to bring in a former two division Thai WBC world champion and a Japanese to join British light middleweight Liam Vaughan in the roster of Pacquiao's sparring partners.
Shortly before the weigh-in for the fight card in which IBF light flyweight champion Johnreil Casimero defends his title against tough Felipe Salguero of Mexico, well-known promoter Sammy Gello-ani who handles Casimero said he expects "a hard fight but Casimero has trained hard and is ready."
Gello-ani said "if Casimero can end the fight sooner than later, all the better."
He said the incentive for winner in the battle between Cabalquinto who has a record of 14-0 with 8 knockouts whom he also handles or Ano-os with a record of 8-4-1 with 2 knockouts to become a sparring partner of Pacquiao was a big incentive for the two fighters to give of their very best.
