Caballero: I Was The Clear Winner By at Least 2 Points

Panama's Celestino Caballero is very angry over last Saturday's split decision loss against Argentina's Jonathan Barros, the featherweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA). The fight took place on Barros' home ground of Mendoza, Argentina. As reported earlier, Caballero and his team have already protested to the WBA for an immediate rematch outside Argentina.

Despite Caballero winning a few rounds and scoring two knockdowns, one judge scored it 116-111 for Barros. The other judge had it 115-111 for Caballero and the third scored it 114-112 for Barros. Caballero saw himself winning by at least two points.

"You can review the videos, with neutral judges, who are able to render an excellent decision and they will see that Celestino Caballero won the fight by at least two points," he said. "We were in Argentina. I respect what they [the judges] do, but the two knockdowns were clear. I dominated and won many of the rounds. The clearest shots were mine. He hit me a lot in the back, illegal hits. And he never took a point [the referee."
