Welterweight: Mayweather retains his crown and adds another belt to his collection, now reigning as a lineal and unified titlist in two classes. In terms of sanctioning bodies, this is supposed to be against the rules but, well, sanctioning fees. Maidana moves up a slot on the strength of his performance, giving Mayweather his toughest night since Jose Luis Castillo. Adrien Broner fought at 140 on the undercard but the decision is to wait a fight to see if he really stays before removal (barring someone else bumping him out). Amir Khan’s win over Luis Collazo was considered but isn’t quite enough to crack the top ten yet.
Flyweight: Thailand’s Amnat Ruenroeng enters the top ten with an upset of Kazuto Ioka. Ioka was attempting to win a belt in his third class but found himself thoroughly befuddled. The scoring was an oddity with one judge too wide for the winner and one judge off the reservation is seeing Ioka ahead. Ioka has stated he intends to continue chasing a belt at 112 and is removed from the ratings at 108. Former WBA titlist Luis Concepcion exits through no fault of his own. The division is just that crowded.
Jr. Flyweight: Johnriel Casimero lost his IBF belt on the scales but remains rated for now while his future course shakes out. He has said he intends to move up.
