Ranked 140lbs contender Bryan Flores will meet Southern California’s Jonathan Navarro in ProBoxTV’s return to the National Orange Show in San Bernardino, California, July 18, the promotion announced Friday.
Flores, 28-1-1 (16KOs), who has only been defeated by soon-to-be IBF title fighter Lindolfo Delgado, defeated Starling Castillo by majority decision in January to land this main event, which follows ProBox’s late March card in San Bernardino topped by WBC interim super-middleweight beltholder Lester Martinez.
Navarro, 18-2 (9 KOs), from Buena Park, California, should have strong local support given his proximity to the venue. Navarro is coming off two consecutive losses, but the most recent is to former world champion Liam Paro on June 25.
The card offers the quick return to San Bernardino by junior-middleweight Joshua Anton, 13-0 (12 KOs), a southpaw from Palmdale, California, who quickly finished Kudratillo Abdukakhorov by first-round KO March 21 when Abdukakhorov complained of head pain after an Anton flurry during the opening frame.
Anton will meet Mexico’s Vladimir Hernandez, 17-7 (7 KOs), in the co-main. A left-hander, Hernandez, 37, suffered a July 12 loss by unanimous decision to Francisco Daniel Veron, but he owns victories over Julian Williams, Alfredo Angulo and has fought top-ranked middleweight contender Jesus Ramos Jnr.
The card features a WBS women’s junior-bantamweight title defense by Adelaida Ruiz, 18-1-1 (8 KOs), versus Ginny Fuchs, 4-0 (1 KO).
The WBO’s No. 15-ranked welterweight Tre’Sean Wiggins, 17-5-4 (10 KOs), meets unbeaten Ruben Aguilar, 24-0-1 (24 KOs). Aguilar, 25, has stopped his past four opponents.
Anthony Cuba, 12-2 (5 KOs), returns on the card after he fell off the most recent San Bernardino show while cutting weight. Cuba will meet Misael Cabrera, 18-3-1 (12 KOs).
