Carlito Brosas noted that he is raring to fight Zhi Lin Xia of China after his sparring session yesterday at the Elorde Gym in Sucat, Parañaque City.

“I’m excited to land my bombs in both hands against the Chinese’s face,” Brosas referring to Xia in their scheduled 12-round duel for the vacant World Boxing Empire (WBE) Asia Pacific welteweight title on Oct. 29 at the Mandaluyong Sports Complex.

The 5-foot-10 Filipino veteran has logged in more than 100 rounds of sparring under the watchful eyes of ex-two time world champ Erbito Salavarria and Rolando Angel.

Brosas, now rated No. 3 by the WBE Asia Pacific, is mastering tactics to be used against Xia by sparring with reigning WBE super featherweight world champ Baby Lorona Jr, undefeated featherweight prospect Rey Labao and Benny Palen.

The entire card dubbed “Eastern Brawls” will be free to the public, according to top boxing patron Gabriel “Bebot” Elorde Jr, who bankrolls the historic fight along with Mayor Neptali “Boyet” Gonzales.

The weekly Elorde Boxing Special of Elorde Jr and Jemah’s Marc Roces will televise the title fight now dubbed “Eastern Brawl” for its regular program, Thursday 9-10 p.m time slot over IBC Channel 13 on November 5.

Xia, the first registered Chinese prizefighter, nicknamed “Rock”, is expected to arrive from Wuhan, Hubei, China on October 25 along with his manager Xiaolin Xia, a former world weightlifting champion who has turned into management of boxers and promotions early this year.

Xia is a 25-year old right-handed fighter with a 75 inches wingspan. He has nine professional fights that scatter to 7 wins, 2 loses with 3 by by way of knockouts.
