Women’s strawweight Brook Sibrian believes she justified her lofty placements within the rankings of the sanctioning bodies with her most recent performance - now all she has to do is convince a promoter of her worth.

On August 2, Sibrian stopped Katherine Renee Lindenmuth in the seventh round of a bout scheduled for eight at the Soboba Casino, San Jacinto, California.

Sibrian, 8-2 (4 KOs), is ranked No. 5 by the WBO, No. 9 by the WBA, and No.13 by the WBC. Lindenmuth, 7-5 (3 KOs), had faced top contenders in the division like Guadalupe Medina, Kim Clavel, and Yadira Bustillos. Though Lindenmuth lost to all of them, two came in majority decision losses, signaling how close the fights were. Lindenmuth had never been stopped.

“I think I made a big statement stopping her,” Sibrian told BoxingScene. “I am confident, and I have found myself as a fighter.”

The 32-year-old from Coachella, California, Sibrian, is on a three-fight win streak with two of the three victories coming inside schedule. In January, Sibrian was at a career low and riding a two-fight losing streak after a close loss to Gloria Munguilla in Commerce, California. She stayed active, fighting in April and May. Now she secured a third victory over the 36-year-old Lindenmuth of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

“I am going to build on this momentum and grow as a fighter,” Sibrian said. “It is not a hoax. I am in the rankings.”

Sibrian, who started boxing late, is looking to make up for lost time, gaining experience as a professional in eight-round fights - this latest bout marked her third over that distance.

“I truly believe I am an eight-to-10-round fighter,” Sibrian said. “If I am not knocking out my opponent, I am punishing them.”

Sibrian’s next goal: finding a promoter.

“I think I have to increase my reach on social media,” Sibrian said. “And make a big push to have that match my style in the ring.”
