Sheffield’s Kell Brook, 33-0 (22) returns to the ring in front of his Sheffield fans tomorrow night to deal with mandatory challenger Jo Jo Dan, 34-2 (18). It is Brook’s first fight since a machete attack left him with a serious leg injury, but the IBF welterweight title-holder is confident of victory at his home city's Motorpoint Arena and has called for a unification fight with the winner of Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao, who meet in Las Vegas on May 2.
Mayweather is the WBC and WBA titlist, Pacquiao holds the WBO belt, unless there is a draw May 2 will bring the division a step closer to complete unification—the 28-year-old British boxer wants a piece of the winner.
"On May 3, there will only be two men in the division with world title belts—I would love to do a unification with the winner,” he said during an interview with The Hudderfield Daily Examiner. "I do belong at that level. I know at 100% I will beat any fighter. I see Mayweather winning the fight. He believes he will win with a passion. Mayweather can control the pace and is a brilliant defensive sharpshooter. For me he takes over the fight halfway through and wins convincingly."
