Adrien Broner has vowed to "pack off" Manny Pacquiao into retirement when they meet in Las Vegas on January 19.
It was officially confirmed on Monday that the MGM Grand will be the venue when Pacquiao puts his WBA World Welterweight title on the line.
Pacquiao won the WBA "regular" belt back in July, when he battered and stopped Lucas Matthysse in seven rounds. It was Pacquiao's first knockout loss since November of 2009.
Broner warned Pacquiao he should enjoy being champion while he can.
There have been some calls for Pacquiao to retire, because he's accomplished everything possible in the sport, but the Filipino superstar is not ready to pack his bags.
"I have paid my dues in this sport. Now it's time for me to get mine. I get more views than everybody when I fight," the 29-year-old American said.
"A lot of people are going to see me pack off Pacquiao into retirement, and without his belt."
Pacquiao is relishing what will be his first fight in Vegas for over two years. He's been away from the city since dominating Jessie Vargas for a WBO world title in the fall of 2016.
"I have missed fighting in Las Vegas. It has been a second home to me." said the 39-year-old.
"Returning to the MGM Grand Garden Arena to defend my world title against Adrien Broner is an exciting way to stage my homecoming."
Broner believes the upcoming Las Vegas clash might be repeat of Pacquiao's fight from 2012, when he was knocked out cold in his fourth bout with Juan Manuel Marquez.
“He’s been knocked out three times. We know he can go out and go to sleep. He don’t need no NyQuil for that,” said Broner. “We know he can go to sleep and I got the power to do it.”
