As BoxingScene.com reported last night, former three division world champion Adrien Broner apologized to music mogul Jay Z for his verbal assault from a few days ago.
Broner felt "disrespected" after being presented with a five year, $40 million dollar offer to join Jay Z's company, Roc Nation Sports, which is now making moves in the boxing industry and recently signed super middleweight king Andre Ward.
While he's willing to do business with Jay Z in other avenues, Broner says there is no way that he's willing to leave Al Haymon in favor of Roc Nation Sports. Haymon, who advises/manages at least 150 fighters, is regarded by many as the most powerful man in boxing.
Even if Jay Z's company comes back with a bigger offer, in terms of the financials, Broner says he is standing firm at Haymon's side.
Broner is reportedly going to headline the first Haymon Boxing telecast of the upcoming NBC/NBC Sports series, which many believe will start on March 7th from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
"Yes I did [feel disrespected by the offer]. There are different ways to handle that and I could have handled that in a different way. Negative, [I won't work with Jay Z if they increase the money]. He's a great businessman and we could always do business but when it comes to boxing I'm locked in with Al Haymon and that's who I do business with in boxing," Broner told TMZ. "I have nothing against Jay Z, but when it comes to boxing - I wouldn't let him to run me in boxing. He do music."
