Former three division world champion Adrien Broner (29-1, 22KOs) says last December's twelve round decision loss to Marcos Maidana was a very positive occurrence in his life. Going into that fight, Broner admits that his life was starting to get out of control. The boxer would record videos with all sorts of crazy antics and his partying lifestyle was very evident.
The boxer stated in other interviews that he cleaned up his life, following that loss, and is more motivated to succeed in the ring. Broner has picked up two wins this year, against Carlos Molina and Emmanuel Taylor.
"That was one of the most fun fights that I was ever in. I swear. It was fun. I can't wait for it to happen again. That's a fight that changed my life for the better. That's a fight that I knew that I wasn't supposed to lose. He didn't beat me. I beat myself in that fight. I could have did some thing different, that's why changed that way I move now. I'm happy that I lost early in my career, because it was getting out of hand. I was just telling someone that the other day, it was getting out of hand. If I would have won that fight, I probably would be dead or in jail right now. That's just the truth, I don't really want to get into it [on why I'm saying that]," Broner told Global Grind TV.
