NABA Heavyweight Champion Shannon Briggs, 47-4-1 (41 KO's), has been named the NABA's Fighter of the Month for June 2006.
The extremely active Briggs receives the honor for the second time in three months for his impressive title defense against Ohio's Chris Koval on May 24 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
Fighting in the debut show of promoter Cedric Kushner's Gotham Boxing, Briggs dismantled the game Koval and stopped him at the end of the third round. In addition to remaining NABA Champion, Briggs finds himself rated #10 in the world by the NABA's parent organization, the World Boxing Association.
