The returning Paul Briggs has promised the Australian fans a real fight when he challenges Danny Green for the IBO cruiserweight title on July 21 at the Entertainment Centre in Sydney. He told reporters that he won't end up like Roy Jones Jr., who was stopped on one round against Green last December. Briggs returns after a three year layoff to take the fight.

"Just a war, an absolute war – I guarantee it, and Danny knows it. Danny Green is not knocking me out in one round," Briggs said to the WA Post. "This is not lawn bowls, we are punching each other in the face consecutively … there is nothing that Danny Green brings that puts any fear in me whatsoever."

Briggs has one goal in the fight, he wants to knock Green out. There is a big local rivalry between the two boxers. Briggs wants to prove that he's always been the better fighter.

"I want to knock him unconscious, that is my goal and that is what I am training so hard for," Briggs said. "He has not stood in front of a fighter like me, I respect where Danny has been and what he has done, but I have gone 24 rounds with one of the hardest fighters on this planet

"Danny Green has everything to lose from this, he just knocked out Roy Jones Jr and now he is King Kong. "It is the big fights I always get up for – I am coming to tear his head off, I am not going to sit down and there is no way I am going to quit."
