The AAP reported that light heavyweight contender Paul Briggs, may finally land a long awaited rematch with Tomasz Adamek, the man who took his WBC light heavyweight title last May. The final word on the bout should be known within the next two months as negotiations continue with Adamek's promoter Don King.
A deal must be reached by July 18 or the WBC will order a purse bid. The bout must be staged by October 31, or Adamak will be stripped of the title, and then Briggs who is the mandatory contender, would face the highest available challenger for the vacant title.
