Heavyweight title challenger Shannon Briggs had strong words for WBC champion Vitali Klitschko when they met at a press conference in Kiev, Ukraine to hype their fight on October 16 in Hamburg, Germany. Briggs promised to make Klitschko a "30-second, first-round victim" in the fight. "That's how a lot of my fights end" - Briggs said to reporters who questioned the predication.
Briggs returned in December after being away for over two years from the ring. He said Klitschko inspired him to get back into shape to fight again after they met a restaurant in Los Angeles, California. He was 335-pounds at the time.
"I was fat and he touched my stomach. And in that moment right there I decided to come back," Briggs said. "He should have left me alone."
Klitschko is not worried. He told the media that Briggs will fall when they clash in October.
"The only man who can defeat Vitali Klitschko is Vitali Klitschko. It will be an amazing, exciting fight, full of drama," Klitschko said. "Shannon is one of the most serious pretenders to the title."
