Former world light flyweight champion Brian Viloria battles IBF champion Ulises Solis in a title fight set for October 11 in Macau on the same Top Rank card where Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire is scheduled to defend his IBF flyweight crown against South Africa’s Moruti Mthalane.

The 27 year old Viloria who has a record of 22-2 with 13 knockouts will try to avenge the defeats suffered by three Filipinos in succession – Rodel Mayol who lost to Solis by an 8th round TKO on August 4 last year, Bert Batawang who lost by a 9th round TKO on December 16 last year and Glenn Donaire who dropped a unanimous twelve round decision last July 12 in Mexico.

The scorecards of the three judges appointed by the IBF were controversial as all three didn’t give Donaire a single round although he controlled the fight in the early rounds.

Viloria won his last fight by a third round knockout of Fred Heberto Valdez after two earlier eight round unanimous decisions over Jose Garcia Banal and Cesar Lopez.

The 26 year old Solis sports an impressive record of 27-1-2 with 20 knockouts.
