Brian Rose has been given the chance to avenge his sole professional loss after Max Maxwell was today confirmed as the opponent for Rose's March 31st British light-middleweight title defence in Blackpool.  Frank Maloney will promote the Sky televised bill.  'The Lion', 18-1-1 (5), was KO'd in the sixth when meeting Maxwell in May 2010 but has since racked up four straight wins and took the British belt with a punch perfect display of boxing against Prince Arron on December 3rd.

Maxwell, 15-10-3 (3), believed that his shock win over Rose would lead to a British or English title tilt only to drop a draw when meeting Jez Wilson in his next fight.  He registered two more wins before losing in a single round to Tom Doran in May.  Maxwell floored Doran early.  Doran rose to his feet and caught Maxwell cleanly as he was trying to apply the finish and was halted by referee Howard Foster at 2:42 of the round despite trying to defend himself along the ropes.  The Birmingham-based boxer bitterly protested the decision and bounced back with a points win over Rockey Chakir in December.
