Last night in the packed house of the Garry-Weber Stadium in Halle, Germany the former three time heavyweight title challenger Axel Schulz was battered bruised bloodied and eventually beaten by the “All American Heavyweight” Brian Minto in a six rounds.
After a seven year hiatus from the ring Schulz’s return billed as “Comeback of the Year” was disrupted by very determined Minto who traveled into hostile territory to take on the German born boxer. Giving up four inches in height Minto was beaten by Schulz’s jab in the opening round but was able to get in some body work that seemingly took its toll on his opponent.
In the third round Minto began to rally up the rage landing efficient body work and opened up a cut on Schulz’s left eye, and in the fourth round Minto floored Schulz with a vicious left hook. In the sixth round Minto continued his all out assault on his foe and after a ferocious stand off going toe to toe against Axel, battering a swollen Schulz into submission the referee halted the brutal assault at 1:30 to give the American heavyweight twenty-seventh victory.
