If John Murray is unable to land a fight with countryman Amir Khan, maybe he can fight the man who sparked Khan in 52-seconds last September - Colombian puncher Breidis Prescott.
The Manchester Evening News reports that Murray's promoter Mick Hennessy has been offered a deal for Murray to fight Prescott in a June bout in the United States. Murray (26-0, 14KOs) has been chasing after Khan for a long time. What better way to force the fight by beating the man who put Khan to sleep. Khan return on March 14 against Marco Antonio Barrera and there is far from a guarantee that Khan wins this one.
Prescott (20-0, 18KOs) returns in February against Humberto Toledo on a Florida card. He appears to already be lined up for another return in April. Murray is coming off a January knockout win over Lee McAllister and has further nothing scheduled.
The papers says that a promotional tussle may break out over Prescott. Frank Warren claims to have promotional options on Prescott based on a contract clause for the Khan fight. German-based promotional company Arena Box claim to have full rights on Prescott.
