Former cruiserweight champ Wayne "Big Truck" Braithwaite (22-2, 18KOs) is predicting a knockout win when he meets Enzo "Big Mac" Maccarinelli (26-1, 20KOs) for the WBO cruiserweight title on saturday night at International Arena in Cardiff, Wales.
Braithwaite told the South Wales Echo that Macca has never faced a fighter on his level.
"Enzo has never faced anyone with my ability, skills or talent," Braithwaite said. "It is not going to be a walk in the park for him. He says that he is ready to knock me out. I just hope he is ready to back up those words in the ring. After my defeat to Jones people were saying that I'm too old and washed up. But I'm still young and this is my chance to be back at the top again."
After he redeems himself, Braithwaite will look for plenty of apologies from the people who wrote him off.
"And after July 21 when I prove people wrong they can kiss my ass," Braithwaite said.
Don King, Braithwaite's promoter, also predicted a knockout win for his fighter.
"Big Truck is going to knock him out," said King. "We'll give him a rematch and knock him out again. Maccarinelli's known as Big Mac. In America we eat Big Macs and that is what's going to happen - Big Truck will eat Big Mac."
