‘’This is going to be the biggest night for Norwegian boxing in a very long time,’’ said Hagen. ‘’If you’re a Norwegian boxer right now, this is the show you want to fight on!’’
The 25 year-old from Flekkefjord has begun to establish himself as a regular at Team Sauerland’s Nordic Fight Night shows with victories over Nikola Matic, Josef Obselo, Shahriyar Weisse and Roman Javoev. On September 13, Hagen will look to improve to 5-0 when he takes on the 27 year-old Ukrainian Makhteienko.
‘’Makhteienko is a tough customer,’’ said the Norwegian pugilist. ‘’He comes from a MMA background, where he is known for his strength and ability to take a punch but I’m the better boxer. My training has been going very well. I spent a week in Berlin sparring and have now returned to Oslo to continue my preparations. I will be ready for whatever he brings to the ring and I will remain undefeated.’’
