Over the weekend in Birmingham, light heavyweight Nathan Cleverly got the biggest win of his career with a stoppage victory over Karo Murat in an eliminator. He now wants his promoter Frank Warren to set a fight against WBO champion Juergen Braehmer at the ExCeL in London on December 11.
Cleverly wants to emulate his idol Joe Calzaghe by beating the best at his weight and unifying the major titles.
"It was great training with Joe a few years ago. Working with a world champion gives you a world champion mentality, but I'm out to make my own name. Like Joe, I will go through my career undefeated. And I think I can unify the division in the next 18 months, beating the likes of Chad Dawson and Jean Pascal," Cleverly told Daily Mail.
