On January 24th in Denver, Brandon Rios and Mike Alvarado will collide in an HBO televised trilogy battle. Rios (32-2-1, 23KOs) stopped Alvarado in seven rounds in 2012, and Alvarado got revenge in their March 2013 rematch with a twelve round unanimous decision.
There has been some talk of the Rios-Alvarado winner potentially facing former two division world champion Timothy Bradley (31-1-1, 12KOs).
Bradley's trainer, Joel Diaz, welcomes a fight against either of the two. In fact, he believes Bradley would beat both of them on the same night.
"That would be good, we'll take on both of those guys in the same night. I was at the second fight. I was watching the fight and I can honestly tell you that I said [during the secone fight] that I would fight Tim against both guys on the same night, and he would beat both guys on the same night - because they are already at the point where they had too much beatings. Alvarado has taken beatings. Rios has taken beatings. They are great fighters, but it's because of their styles [that they took those beatings]. They are action-packed fighters," Diaz told BoxingScene.com.
