If promoter Gary Shaw gets his wish, he would like to stage Timothy Bradley's defense of the WBO junior welterweight title against unbeaten Edwin Valero in the month of June on Showtime. How confident is Shaw about Bradley's chances in the fight? He's willing to travel to Mexico to make the fight happen.
"I am so confident that Tim Bradley wins that fight, I'm willing to go to Mexico," Shaw told BoxingScene.com. "I'm going to talk with Bob [Arum] to see if he's serious about the fight, and I'm going to speak with [Showtime's VP of Sports Programming] Ken Hershman."
Valero plans to invade the junior welterweight division in his next fight. Arum is willing to match Valero against Bradley. Speaking with BoxingScene on Sunday, Arum said he plans to build Valero up for a potential future fight with Manny Pacquiao. Both sides want the fight, let's see if it happens.
