Bradley Skeete produced a dominant display to keep hold of his fringe title.
The Penge welterweight retained the WBO European crown with a seven-round ending of Alex Lepelley at the Ice Arena in Cardiff.
Skeete, 28, now has a record of 24-1 (11 KOs) after being awarded the victory, exclusively live on BoxNation, against the former European super-lightweight title challenger who slips to 19-7-1 (4 KOs) in defeat.
It was only the second time in his career that the Frenchman had been stopped but Skeete will surely now be looking to move on to bigger and better things following the one-sided showing against the 34-year-old.
His promoter, Frank Warren, has outlined that they are looking to move him into position for a shot at the world title and, with a number six rating, it shouldn’t be too long before we see him in a meaningful fight for global honours.
Elsewhere on the bill, Commonwealth super-flyweight champion Jamie Conlan had an easy win.
It was easy in comparison to the last few wars he’s had. Conlan is an all-action little guy, but he didn’t have to get out of first gear to finish off limited import Patrik Bartos.
The end came after just 56 seconds of the second round, after three knockdowns, and the Belfast ‘Mexican’ moved on to 17-0 (11 KOs) as Bartos, who has now fought on these shores no fewer than seven times, dropped to 7-10 (6 KOs).
Meanwhile, Joe Pigford increased his undefeated ledger to 11 contests while adding another stoppage to his ever-improving record.
The Southampton sensation, who ended the game challenge of Sam Omidi after 27 seconds of four rounds and after four knockdowns, now has 10 early endings to his name.
Omidi, in defeat, slips to 4-3-1.
And 22-year-old Alex Hughes outpointed veteran middleweight Alastair Warren, who is seven years the prospect’s senior.
There were also wins on the card for Dale Evans, Craig Evans and Gary Buckland, while Jay Harris scored a sensational knockout of Ramesh Ahmadi, the Afghanistan native, to take his ledger to 8-0 (5 KOs).
