WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley is making a list of targets at 140-pounds. Prior to a rise in weight, Bradley wants to clean out the junior welterweight division. He defends his title against WBA-interim champion Marcos Maidana on July 17. After Maidana, Bradley would like to target the full WBA champion Amir Khan, who defends his title against Paulie Malignaggi on May 15. After Khan, Bradley wants a showdown with WBC champion Devon Alexander.
"I’m where I need to be at right now, and one or two more big fights at 140 should do it. Maidana, then I’ll take out Khan, which should set up a huge fight with Alexander… and then I’ll take him out. After I take care of business with Maidana, Freddie Roach and [Khan’s promoter] Golden Boy know I want to take care of Khan. I’d love to get it on with Khan," Bradley told boxingnewsonline.net.
Bradley is surprised the WBA did not strip Khan for avoiding his mandatory defense against Maidana. He thinks Khan is getting better but should have fought Maidana.
"It’s ridiculous, the WBA should have picked the title from Khan a long time ago," Bradley said.
