The Boxing Lab welcomed WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley to their inaugral show of 2012. During his interview on BoxingScene.com's official audio show, Bradley spoke on a variety of topics including being on the short list to face Manny Pacquiao. The Palm Springs, California based fighter and Mexican superstar Juan Manuel Marquez have also expressed a mutual interest in facing each other in separate articles on this site.
I asked Bradley if he was interested in facing WBA/IBF junior welterweight Lamont Peterson if fights against Pacquiao and Marquez fell through. Bradley soundly defeated Peterson via unanimous decision in December of 2009.
"I wouldn't mind fighting Peterson again. I wouldn't mind adding more belts to my collection," Bradley replied.
Peterson has been quoted as saying that he would like to avenge his loss to Bradley which remains his only career defeat. The Washington, DC based fighter is confident that a rematch would produce a different outcome. Bradley countered that statement by saying that he has gotten stronger since their first meeting and that he would make adjustments that would enable to get an easier victory.
"He feels that he can make some adjustments but I am a lot stronger than I was (in the first fight). He may have changed a little himself but I know that I will definitely give him more problems now," said Bradley.
